As we were getting dinner together tonight, Charlotte marched into the kitchen to announce, “Mommy, I have a poopy. I made a present for you!”
Riding in the car, talking about trees… Grandpa: Do you know how to tell the difference between a spruce and a hemlock? Charlotte: Yes. One is black, and one is…pink!
Dinner has devolved into knock-knock jokes. Charlotte: Knock-knock! Ben: Who’s there? Charlotte: Banana! Ben: Banana who? Charlotte: (with great enthusiasm) Bananaman!
Funny moments from this morning’s commute: As we passed Cambridge Common (a restaurant/bar with a fantastic beer selection and remarkably delicious macaroni & cheese), Charlotte piped up from the back seat, “I can eat mac and cheese?” Apparently this was not the first time she shared that association. Charlotte is 1 1/2! She’s a busy, happy, sociable little girl. She has more words than I can list, including “Neema” for Grandmas and Grandpas (kind of interchangeable at this point), and all her friends at Harvard Yard. She loves (and requests) songs.
