Baby Jesus, be quiet!

Etta is playing with her nativity set, and doing lots of imaginary play. Baby Jesus’ mommy is standing on Baby Jesus, telling him to be quiet. Soon, Baby Jesus and Mary are napping under a dinner napkin.

“Are you okay, Mary? Are you okay, Baby Jesus?”

We’re still working on gender-appropriate pronouns, so sometimes we get, “Baby Jesus is a boy, so we cover HIM up.”

And now she’s rocking Baby Jesus in her arms, putting him to sleep. And his mommy is going to work.

I’m still laughing… thanks for the giggle.

What I see in this photo is child abuse. Imagine, standing on the poor baby. Perhaps they should go to Nebraska and leave the baby on the doorstep.
