Henrietta went to the Children’s Museum with my mom last week, and at the gift shop she picked out this hunk of amethyst for me. Her idea is that I can keep it in my office and think of her when I look at it. Aww. We spent part of the Memorial Day weekend at […]
We took advantage of the Veteran’s Day holiday to take a super-long weekend trip to visit the Rotas in Waterloo. Good adventures: the zoo, playgrounds, and great family time! And a good Homer moment from tonight’s dinner: Etta: Where do ribs come from? Daddy: Well, they’re pork—they come from pigs. Etta: What else comes from […]
I guess it’s been kind of a busy summer. In summary: Etta is three! We went to Minnesota and Wisconsin for the Lippert reunion. Horses were involved. Etta’s going to be a big sister. Phew.
Henrietta is two and a half! As we were walking to the bus this afternoon, she said, “The sky is blue. Why is the sky blue?” We spent last week in St Maarten/St Martin — many great adventures!

Well, it’s been a busy couple of weeks, and not much time to post. The Tooth: The Thursday before Mothers’ Day, Etta got up in the morning and had a broken tooth! I saw there was something funny when I was changing her, and it turned out to be a big old crack right up […]
Boy, I’m a slacker. Etta’s 20 months old! Besides being ridiculously cute, incredibly tall, and generally a very cool toddler, she’s also really verbal — knows lots of colors, lots of nouns, does please and thank you (sometimes), and knows names. And in travel news, we spent Harvard’s Spring Break in San Juan with my […]
…lousy return trip. Oh well. Good stuff first: Us at the zoo—lots more pictures on Flickr! And the travel torture (just need to get this out of my system): On our return trip, we flew through Dulles on United. Etta was great on the first flight — she kept herself busy fiddling with stuff around […]
